Match Report
The second derby of the season finished with a 10-0 victory for the 4ths vs the 5ths.
During an incredibly windy game, the physical side won against the lightweight side who had to face a strong wind for most of the second half.
The 4ths also saw the retun after a lengthy period of Andrew Morris and the first start for new goalkeeper Lunga Mnguni.
The 4ths could have been 3-0 within the space of 10 initial minutes: Wills, Swanepoel and then Olgiati missed a sitter each (Olgiati's ball is probably still trying to land on the moon)
Unlike other games, they kept psuhing and found the 1-0 thanks to a goal by Swanepoel, who finished from a tight corner. It was then Wills who scored the 2-0 with a great shot from inside the box. Olgiati scored the 3-0 after Swanepoel inspired the goal. Just before the end of the first half Wills scored again for the 4-0
In the second half the floodgates opened. Thanks to a strong wind the 4ths soon scored plenty of goals thanks to Olgiati-Wills-Swanepoel combinations. Almeida helped with incredibly long free throws to contribute to the scoreline. Will scored 2 more, Swanepoel replied with 2 and Olgiati and Chezay scored in between.
Almeida hit the post from distance and Olgiati had a goal ruled out for offside. The back four was untroubled for most of the game and Panorama 4ths celebrated finally the first clean sheets of the season!
Unfortunately Wills, the 4-goal hero, badly injured himself after landing awkwardly during a corner. He couldn't move the knee anymore and was transported to a near hospital for checks.
Man of the match: with 4 goals, it was time for Wayne Wills to win this award. Shame about the injury!
