Match Report
Panorama won a hard game against Florida 2-1
Under a scorcing sun, and with some emergencies (Stoychev still injured, Wills too, Buys and McGann sick, Du Plessis stuck at home for a family emergency), they absorbed Florida's attack for the first 25 minutes, thanks to a defensive 5-3-2 that saw Ivings and Olgiati sacrificing their usually attacking movement to play with the rest of the midfielders (a Reis back after his honeymoon, Pyrotis and Nair starting for the first time this year).
Luckily, while the back 3 (Maluka / Soombur and Sethole, all in great form) took care of few dangers, Swanepoel took care of the scoring, in the only 2 clear chances in the first half. The first goal was created by Reis, who passed a long ball to Bassnet. Bassnet managed to flick it for Swaenepol who rounded the keeper and gave Pana the advantage. 10 minutes later, from an innocous flick by Reis, Swanepoel beat the keeper first time by lobbing him from 25 meters. Two great goals from last year's top goalscorer.
In the second half Florida pushed more, trying to find a goal to re-open the contest. But it was Rogers' time to do miracles, saving the goals on at least 3 clear occasions. He couldn't do nothing in the last 10 minutes, where Florida managed to pull one back with a simple tap in. But it was a case of too little, too late. Panorama switched to a defensive 3-6-1 with Pretorius up front and managed to win again!
Men of the match: a shared award for Rogers and Sethole, finally starting and showing his willingness to put his body on the line.
