Match Report
Sometimes games like these can change the course of a whole season. Facing the first of three big games in the space of 8 days (Bryanston Warriors, Chivas and Central JHB), Panorama started very well in the first 30 minutes, controlling the game while Bryanston couldn't get two passes together. Wills scored after a good combination with Capazorio, and then 5 minutes later Swanepoel impressed with the best goal of the season so far: control to get the ball in mid-air and then while the ball was still in air he smashed an unstoppable shot that left the keeper beaten.
Soon Reis, on his first start of the season, danced around players to release Swanepoel. The keeper made a mistake and Swanepoel scored again, his 6th goal of the season in 5 games.
This was the moment when everything changed: Bryanston decided to play only long balls hoping for a mistake in our relaxed defense, and in the space of 5 minutes just before the half time they hit twice: first with a great diving header and then with a goal given away for lack of communication.
The second half was a nervous experience: Bryanston kept kicking the ball away on a very small field and found a goal with a speculative shot from the right. Just when things were going the wrong way, once again Wills powered through the Bryanston defence to find the winning goal, with 20 minutes to play.
Mosima could add a 5th with a great shot from the distance saved by the keeper, and Wills again hit the crossbar with a great free kick.
The last 20 minutes were a scrappy affair: both team kicked the ball away from their area renouncing to play and risk, and hoping for a mistake. But Panorama held the fort and brought home an important victory!
Man of the match: Nino Reis and Swanepoel. Reis impressed in the first half with his great touch and managed to create a lot of chances, while Swanepoel covered the field from area to area filling the spots during a tough game, and still managed to score two goals!
