Match Report
Sometimes all you need is luck. It was a very solid performance by Panorama, but it wasn't enough to get a result. Playing on West Ridge school against a team who likes to run and pressure the ball, Panorama started on the backfoot, trying to keep afloat after 25 minutes of constant pressing by Chivas. Only some good saves by Rogers kept the score even. Unfortunately Chivas's pressure managed to break into Panorama's defense and they scored the 1-0, probably in offside position.
Panorama reacted very well and soon Olgiati hit a post from an impossible angle before Wayne slotted the 1-1 by taking advantage of a mistake by Chivas. It was probably the best moment for Panorama: in the second half Soombur had a one on one chance to score but was unlucky with the bounce, and few times all it was missing was the final pass to release the striker.
Unfortunately Chivas hit the winning goal with a scrappy action in the area and some lucky bounce. Panorama tried to level the score, and while Rogers kept Chivas at bay, Denton and Wilson were unlucky against the keeper.
It was a tough game, played at a high tempo, and unfortunately it ended badly. But it was a performance of heart, something that Panorama will need against Central JHB this Saturday!
Men of the match: Rogers, it was by far his best performance in goals, and Louw, solid as usual against their quick opponents.
