My experience at the event:

I had not scored since last June, so it meant a lot to finally find the net again. It was even more meaningful that it came against the same goalkeeper who, back in August, broke my ankle with a reckless foul.

Since then, I have hardly played. Much of my time has been spent travelling to Italy to be with my father during his final months. Football understandably took a back seat.

So for once, it felt good to switch off from everything. I enjoyed the run, set up a teammate, and capped it off with a well taken goal. Having my sister in the stands, all the way from Italy to visit me, made the moment even more special.
