My experience at the event:

My first 21km in almost 10 years. Strangely, I've completed more full marathons (42km) that the half-distance. I always regarded it as a second-rate distance, since in my mind if you can run 21km why not run 42km directly?

Anyway, with the Soweto Marathon in mind (similar weather conditions, with a little more hills) I completed the race in less than 2 hours which was my limit to confirm that I can run a full marathon (my eleventh, but also my first in more than 3 years).

Jill and David completed their usual 10km in little less than an hour, while I finished with a good second half (and a very quick last 2-3 kms) around 40 minutes later.

It was a nice experience, but next week is the big one!
