My experience at the event:

And finally it happened: I broke my personal record  on the 10km distance! And, more important, I managed to run for the first time a 10km under 45 minutes!

We arrived in Centurion too late to enjoy the group start of the 21km and the 10km, so I simply showed up some minutes later and started my own personal run.
Within 15 minutes I was back at the bottom of the group thanks to a crazy fast start (3:30 in the first km!), and I kept a good pace until the end, where the hilly part started.

I knew the course since it's not the first time I completed it, so I saved some energies on the long downhill before the last, tough, hill and with a final sprint I beat that damn 45 minutes wall that has been bugging me since I started running!
So there is life after 30.

And what a better way to celebrate that eating pancakes? One of the reasons why I like to run in the Pretoria area is the cheap pancakes always available after the race (and, in this case, also the massage tent for all the runners...). And what a surprise this time: for the first time ever I saw a hand made pancake machine that quickly created meters and meters of delicious pancakes...
