My experience at the event:

It has been a lazy week. Unhealthy eating, little energy, not enough football sessions (wednesday got cancelled because of a storm). So I didn't expected much from this race, especially after forgetting to eat breakfast on the way to Pretoria.

Instead I ended up, on the kind of course I'm beginning to like (first half climb, when your energies are still up, second half downhills, pushing through the barrier) with an excellent time just above the 45 minute mark. Shame about the energy low moment I had around the 7km, otherwise probably I could have gone under the 45 minutes barrier!
All of us did great time. Jill and David finish 1 minute after the hour (I think it's their best result in a long time) and suddenly waking up at 4am to go to race had a sweet meaning.
